big seas and moody skies

The weather is very changeable at the moment in my neck of the woods. Strong winds are whipping up big seas, and the water level at high tide is rising as we approach full moon.

It makes for dramatic views and a bracing walk. I love this kind of weather.

Walter added his own little drama today by rolling in horse poo, followed by a dead fish, and then a dead gull. He is less than fragrant, and has had to be bathed. He's now been banished to his bed, where he's sleeping off his little adventure.

Love those photos and wish I could have come with you for that walk! Now I know why I have cats who would never do that!!!

The little stinker.
And I am struck by how much more dramatic a grey sky is over the water than on flat ground inland. You make me yearn for the sea so often with your photos. Beautiful.

what is it with dogs and bad smell?

I love a stormy sea. I lived in New England for a while and a good Atlantic storm is a sight to behold... sigh..

Our childhood dog used to like doing that, and then looking at us reproachfully when we bathed her.

Hope you don't get too blustered about!

Love the images. Not sure about the stinky dog though, still he's all clean now!

There it is again, the heart strings are being pulled Diana .. as for that boy Walter, honestly doesn't he know that mummy will have to clean the bath at least ten times before any guests will come?!!

Is that shop open yet????? x

Ewww!

And I so agree with Ali--while your grey skies are amazing, ours here in Teddington are just blah.

There are several reasons why I don't have a dog, Diana, and I'm afraid that Walter's adventure neatly illustrates one of them.... But beautiful pictures.

Dogs do have some less-than-endearing traits, don't they! We used to have a Border terrier who loved rolling, the more grisly the better, and who once had a magical moment when a carcase of a drowned sheep was washed along the river Tweed onto the beach. I have never run so fast in my life as I did to wrench that little dog away from her horror-fest!

Cor! Wot a niffy dog! Walter behave!! :)

I love that kind of weather too. I almost imagined you in a hooded cloak on the beach a la French Lieutenant's Woman... and then you mentioned what Walter had done... I don't think that ever happened to her!!!
